LAB3 Video – Successfully drove two motors to draw
- What kind of machines would you be interested in building?
- I found myself enjoying the process of exploring different circuits and understand the working rules behind them. Also, personally I love those novel things. Thus, I would say I’m interested in build funny machines that can manage some unexpected works. For example, a slot machine for different kinds of tree leaves.
- Find a kinetic art installation. Post your thoughts on it and make a comparison with the work you did during this lab. Explain why you like this specific project and how interactive you think this is. If it is not, what would you add to the project to make it interactive?

- I chose this clip because I believe it has something I am looking for in those kinds of arts, which I don’t see in many other projects. More specifically, I am seeking for shapes and visuals that’s not common in our reality. In the clip he managed to provide some aesthetic dynamic arts by spinning the object. However, I do think we can provide more interactive experiences. I wish someday we can provide users with not “linear” but random shapes. Here I say “linear” to mean that the project / installation is changed linearly but the environment. Thus, when users choose to redo same set of actions, they will get same changes. Yet I believe the beauty of randomness – if we can use some algorithm to ensure that users can get quite different responses from the environment based on some technology, like ML, that will be very cool.
