Reflection quetions:
Please answer each of these questions. Add your answers to your post, along with the other documentation for the circuits that you built in class.
- Reflect on different interactions with technologies that you have observed in your daily life. Pick a few of these and write down your own definition of interaction based on your observations.
- Virtual Assistant AIs, like “Alexa”, “Tmall Genie”, can respond to your voices or gestures in daily life. In addition, in some places, you need to swipe cards to get into a place. Thus, I would say my definition for “interaction” is “with giving an input / change to the environment around, you can get responses – like changes of the environment, or simply some voice replies.”
- During the assembly of the circuits, we used many electronic components as inputs and outputs. Which of these components do you recognize in the circuit?
- Resistor, Diode, DC/AC Source, Button / Switches
- Watch the video: Zach Lieberman: Interactive Art and write your thoughts on interaction and the future of technology.
- There can be many ways to interact, and the future of interaction must be promising. Although human beings had already found so many ways of interacting with the surrounding, they can never get satisfied with what they got so far. Thus, there will definitely be a group that will push the interaction frontier forward. I would say the future of interactions will be heavily relying on this group – open-source group – and the advancements of technologies, like mind-machine interaction, novel ways of interesting and presenting virtual objects in reality, etc.
