I’ve had previous experience in CAD/CAM when doing the design/technology course at IGCSE. My experience is that it could be a little slow at first, but when I started to get better I was able to use CAD/CAM to speed up my prototyping process considerably. Overall, I think this technology has enabled small organizations to prototype a lot faster while maintaining a fairly low cost.
After reading the article, I felt that interaction is fun when done right. I got this idea as the author constantly relates interactive artwork with computer games. For a brief moment I thought to myself why couldn’t day to day interactions be made into a game-like style. Finally, I came up with the conclusion that a successful interactive experience should be fun (relates to the pleasure principle mentioned in the article).
