1) Write shortly about your previous experiences communicating ideas and prototyping if you have any. Compare the crafting method you have used in the past to prototype and what you learned today. How do you think that these digital fabrication methods can help you for your future projects?
Once I used an app called Sketch Up for modeling and designed a series of tiny objects printed out by 3-D printers. Compared with the website now I use called Tinkercad, Sketch Up is more suitable for models only to be looked, while Tinkercad can create models well and adjust them more convenient. To further point out the advantages of the method now I use, I think that those websites and methods are likely to contribute to my future works and interests — whenever I want to make a model, or just more simply, show my idea of a certain project.
2) Based on your reflections on the reading, define in your own words what interaction is for you.
According to the example of colour exhibited in the passage, I myself hold an opinion that interaction is the process of improving the accuracy, amount, and creation of the information both sent and received by the human beings.
3) Finally, explain what contributes to a successful interactive experience based on your definition of interaction.
Accuracy — People will not get fake or false information
Amount — People will get enough information by interacting with the machine or the system
Creation — People will not get bored or have seen the same type of interaction so many times (which can also means enjoyment)
I think you have a good point, Michael. I’ve seen projects where the accuracy of the feedback isn’t the present and sometimes just to make the project to look fancier.
Great reflections!
