homework day 3 – dora

What kind of machines would you be interested in building?

I would be interested in building machines that can use simple concepts to make something that looks complex such as the drawing machine above. This would make you look smart as well as having the machine be interesting/useful to the world.

Find a kinetic art installation. Post your thoughts on it and make a comparison with the work you did during this lab. Explain why you like this specific project and how interactive you think this is. If it is not, what would you add to the project to make it interactive?

I like this because it uses many motion sensors and and motors to change the direction of the brixels (motorized bricks) smooth so it looks natural. It is pretty interactive since the wall imitates the person’s actions in their on way, ranging from pictures standing still or a fluid wave. Compared to our lab, this is much more complex and sophisticated but our lab relies more on the human mind to think of what to draw thus more effort for the interaction on the human side while this lab is simple imitation and only has to be programmed once at first.
