1. ultrasonic sensor
2. touch sensor
Why did you choose that specific sensor and output? How do you think you could use this sensor to create an interactive experience?
I chose the digital touch sensor because it is one of the most common sensors we use currently and the analog ultrasonic sensor to experiment with different distances. For the touch sensor, I was thinking of using it to play a rhythm on the buzzer (when there was only one pitch) and then I experimented with having the buzzer play a new melody. If there was more time and more touch sensors, I think it could be possible to have each sensor correspond to a pitch so we can play a melody on the buzzer. For the ultrasonic sensor the different distances can form interactive experiences such as automatic lights or automating doors.
With the information you have so far and your personal experience, in what ways do you believe the computer influences our human behaviors? Give an example
With technology becoming a larger part of our world, I realize that humans tend to rely on technology more than ever. For example, a person would rather use the calculator (on your phone) to do a simple problem when checking out/tipping. This is more accurate, but then the person’s math abilities would not be strengthened. Also, people can use translation sites to help with homework or other things. The internet is also a giant resource with so much information that if you have access to it, you can search it up straight away so there is no point to remember it. Computers also create easy communications systems to make humans feel like they can connect to people at all times.
